PCP is one of Australia’s peak independent not-for-profit photography organisations.
Since 1992, PCP has been at the forefront of supporting and presenting the work of emerging and established WA, Australian and International artists. Our public exhibition program is designed to promote excellence in contemporary photography and inspire discussion and critical thinking on global social, environmental, and cultural themes.
Alongside our dynamic exhibition program, we have introduced a variety of initiatives, including talks, unique awards, and a rapidly expanding learning and mentorship program designed to support photographic practitioners new and established across all of Western Australia.
A NEW DIRECTION
PCP has called many gallery spaces home since its inception. After six years at the King Street Arts Centre, PCP has made the decision to bid farewell to our CBD location, allowing us to redirect large overhead costs towards ensuring fair pay for artists and arts management workers.
Since 2018, PCP has delivered a robust programme of activities at our gallery in Boorloo, alongside initiatives such as mentorships, commissions, and more. Reflecting on our past achievements, we see vast opportunities to increase our impact for artists and expand our reach throughout WA and beyond.
To approach this transition effectively, we have taken the necessary time to meticulously plan our next steps, and we are now in the final stages of shaping a new exciting future for PCP.
In the meantime PCP will partner with our WA galleries partners to present a robust exhibition and creative learning program.
